MALLORCA

 ...passionate and musing, charming and unruly, poetic and wild -     this is what Mallorca can be - the most popular destination                  for European tourists in the Mediterranean. Mallorca has a typical Mediterranean climate, where the sun shines more than 300 days        a year with the smells of oranges and lemons in the air. An island        of green and azure sea with many beautiful beaches, cliffs                 and mountain ranges, an interesting history and many must-see places!  "The Mediterranean Pearl" or "The Queen of the Balearic Islands" are the poetic names this island is known of. On an area almost 10 times larger than the area of ​​Bratislava, you will find everything that the entire continent can hide. Impressive mountains    in the west, mountain passes, rivers, dry steppes, fertile plains          and the ever-present sea and beaches. The diversity of the coast      and beaches is what makes Mallorca unique. Short distances make it possible to get to know the entire island and its rich history, which influenced not only the Balearic Islands, but also the entire Iberian Peninsula.

 Palma Cathedral 

It is a magnificent sandstone cathedral that towers over the old city walls. In history, it represented the strength of the island's Christian inhabitants. Part of the cathedral    is a huge 12-meter window, which ranks among the largest windows  in the world.

Soller

This picturesque town is located    in the northwest of Mallorca        and is known for its spectacular mountain views and vibrant orange groves. Visitors can take a train ride on the Soller Railway, which winds through orange groves                  and the Tramuntana Mountains.

Deia

There is a beautiful little village      on the west coast that has become home to many artists. Nowadays, you will find many art galleries    and small souvenir shops here,      as well as some very good restaurants.

Valldemossa

One of the most attractive sights    of the island is undoubtedly this ancient village, located in the heart of the Traumuntana mountains. There is a famous Carthusian monastery, old stone houses, impressive villas and tree-lined streets.

Drach cave

This cave is located on the outskirts of Porto Cristo and is one                of Mallorca's most popular tourist destinations. There is an extensive drip decoration that resembles all sorts of shapes - a cactus, a flag,      a theater and others. The show is complemented by lighting effects. The route ends at the underground lake Martel, which is the largest      in Europe. This lake is named after the discoverer of the cave                E. A. Martelova. The tour route is about 1.2 km long, includes a boat ride on the lake                               and an underground classical music concert. The temperature in the cave is around 21°C.

Lighthouse and Cape Formentor

Just a few kilometers from       the town of Pollenca, you will find probably the most photogenic place on the island, Cap de Formentor. Locals also call it the meeting point             of the island's winds (Meeting point of winds), which will also tell you what kind of weather conditions you can expect here. It is often very windy here, which is not a bad thing             in the summer months. It is actually the end of the Formentor peninsula, which is 20 km long, the northernmost tip of all of Mallorca. In good weather, you can see                 the neighboring Mennorka from here. 

Bellver Castle

The construction of the castle was planned by the first Christian king Juame I., as a reminder                     of the victory over Islam. The castle was completed in 1309-1311. It lies about 3 kilometers northwest         of today's center of Palma.          The fortress has a unique circular construction of walls, in which there are 3 towers and embrasures.     The castle courtyard in the middle of the two-story palace, which has  a circular shape and is decorated with arcade arches, is beautiful.  The historical museum d'historia de la Ciutat is located on the ground floor of the castle. The roof terrace offers a unique view                           of the surroundings.

Serra de Tramuntana mountain range

The Serra de Tramuntana mountain range is located in the northwestern part of the island of Mallorca.          It is an almost 90 km long, limestone mountain range.          The highest point of this mountain range is Puig Major, 1445 m above sea level. Serra de Tramuntana is suitable for hiking with a wonderful view. The Serra de Tramuntana mountain range was included in the list of natural monuments                of UNESCO.
